Product Care Instructions

Our products are handcrafted and dyed using traditional, natural processes, which makes each piece unique. Because of this artisanal approach, natural variations in color and texture are normal and add to the character of the garment. Natural dyes—especially indigo, madder, and other plant-based pigments—may release excess color during the first few wears or washes. This is part of the dye’s natural settling process and does not affect the quality or longevity of the product.

To ensure your garment ages beautifully, please follow these care instructions:

Washing & Handling

  • Hand wash gently with a mild, pH-neutral detergent to maintain the natural dye.
  • Use cold water to prevent color loss and preserve the fabric’s integrity.
  • Wash similar or dark colors separately, as natural dyes may bleed initially.
  • Avoid vigorous rubbing or scrubbing, especially on printed or dyed areas.
  • Do not soak the garment, as prolonged exposure to water can cause dye migration.

What to Avoid

  • No bleach, no fabric softeners, and no starch, as these chemicals may react with natural dyes.
  • Avoid machine washing and tumble drying, as they can damage delicate, handcrafted textiles.

Drying

  • Dry in the shade, away from direct sunlight, to prevent fading.
  • Do not wring the fabric; instead, gently squeeze out excess water.

Ironing & Storage

  • Iron on low to medium heat while the garment is slightly damp or using steam.
  • Store in a cool, dry place, preferably folded instead of hanging, to maintain shape.
